CSS gallery sites are kind of like a double edge sword. They can do a lot to help your website with quality link backs, exposing your site to would be customers, and showing off your work to others in the industry. The drawback, or other side of the sword, is the fact that submitting to all these CSS sites can be a bit exhausting. There are so many of them that it can easily take hours to visit them all and submit your website.

Overview of what they do
To sum it up, The CSS Gallery List submits your site to a large number of some of the biggest CSS galleries on the internet. At the time of this writing, The CSS Gallery List includes 78 featured CSS galleries. Do you have any idea how long it would take you to submit your site to that many galleries? I dont know exactly, but it would be more time then I care to spend.
The CSS Gallery List is in partnership with all galleries in the featured list. Once your submission is received by The CSS Gallery List, the details of your submission are then automatically sent directly to all featured CSS galleries. It is then up to the participating galleries whether or not your submission is accepted for inclusion in their showcase.
If your site meets the criteria of The CSS Gallery List, it will also be added to our ‘favourite submissions’ section.
The best part of their service? It only cost $15 bucks!!! It is a steal of deal in my opinion and well worth the money.
My experience with them
Upon launching the redesign of Outlaw Design Blog I had the The CSS Gallery List submit my site to the featured list of galleries. I couldn’t be happier with their work. Within just a few days I was receiving emails from a number of major CSS galleries saying that my site had been accepted and posted. Im sure that there are still many CSS galleries that have longer waiting times that will be sending me emails shortly.

I recently paid them $15, and in just a day, I’ve been posted to 4 galleries. I hope that number rises quickly!
My only complaint is that they should have a “status” that you can check up on. And see that you’re site WAS indeed submitted and if it’s pending review or if it’s approved or not.
Right now, it’s hard to justify paying $15 for something that you just aren’t sure will work. Testimonials are one thing to insure confiedence, but being able to visually see the status would probably help increase their conversion rates!

@Jeff: I’m sure your site will be listed on more, as well as our ‘favourite submissions’ section. As for providing a status, I am hoping that this will be added at some point down the track.

It’s not just great for the people submitting their sites, but has been really helpful as well as a Featured Gallery. Needless to say Outlaw Design Blog was one of the submissions we received that was added to our gallery.

It’s an odd one this.
I’d like to save myself a few hours work when I re-launch my base6 design website next week (www.base6design.com) BUT I if I leave this out of my control anything could happen?
I guess $15 is a ’sweet spot’ price that is neither too much too loose or to expect much back from.
I also have a bad feeling that some CSS sites may start to deliberately ignore submissions from sites like this as they will resent people making money off their back.
I could be wrong but Im pretty sure that CSS List has a partnership of sorts with all of these sites, so I wouldn’t worry too much about you site getting the axe because you use this service.

Hmm, I accidentally came across this article…So you say it works, and it’s only $15 ??? If you ask me, if I loose $15 on the street I don’t get too angry. So why not “risk” and have something come out of it?
I’ve tried applying to a few galleries myself (manually) - no dice though. I think I’ll need to move away from my minimalist roots and get better with illustrator before any CSS galleries give me love.
This redesign you’ve done is pretty crazy, and the faithful branding brings me great happiness. Glad to see your getting some recognition out there…
A few more featured galleries have now been added and sites can now be submitted to 83 CSS galleries all from one form.

i submitted my site manually to around 130 css galleries manually. sounds crazy, i know, but it only took a few days. Spent the $15 on a pizza when i was done. tedious work, yes, but hey… its not so bad when your work is your hobby, right?
I also have a plan to create CSS Gallery Website. I think if The CSS Gallery List can connection some website to your network, request their feedback when you submit a website … Your work will better. Of course websites on your network will also have some benefits from you.
FYI - the cost has gone up to $20.
The way I see it is if you are willing to spend the amount of time you spend on your own site, making it the best you can and whatnot, then you either have 2 choices. You can spend some of that time submitting your site to all of the CSS galleries if you are that against spending the $15 or $20 it costs to have your site submitted to them all at once.
There are most certainly people out there that either can’t afford it, or just don’t see the need to use something like this, when it is something they can do manually.
Even though my site qualifies as one that would be added to them, I don’t feel it is worthy of it yet, but once I redesign it, I’m not sure if I would pay, or do it manually. Depends on my money situation at the time.
