Me working in Alaska racing sled dogs.
Why I Started Outlaw Design Blog
As with everything I do online, design or otherwise, I started Outlaw Design Blog to help keep me from having a real job. As it is today, Outlaw Design Blog has grown beyond what I ever planned it to be. I have met some amazing readers through the blog and learned just as much from them as I hope they have from me.
My Vision for Outlaw Design Blog
Ideally I would like Outlaw to be a combination of two of my favorite blog; Freelance Switch and Smashing Magazine. Now that Outlaw has really taken off and is earning a decent amount of revenue, I plan on putting a lot of the back into the blog to help grow into a site that is a resource for all things related to the business of design.
About Me
Like I said above, I try not to have a real job. I haven’t had one since 2002 so I guess Im doing something right. Not having a real job and not working are two very different things. For the last few years I spent my summers as a raft guide on the Ocoee river (Class 4 and 5 rapids where they had the 1996 Olympics ). My winters were spent racing sled dogs in Alaska. In between season I usually traveled. to date I have been to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Jamaica, and Aruba.
I have always been into art and design. I have a little portfolio of artwork on Deviant art if you want to check it out. I have also been a business person since I was a kid. I have had a subscription to Entrepreneur Magazine since I was in elementary school. I kid you not.
I am currently living in Alaska with my amazing fiance and our two dogs. You can see our house and office here.
