There are a lot of easy ways for designer and developers to make some extra money or generate passive income.
For example, one could sell hosting, offer banner design services, create theme/templates, and much more. This type of thing can be a great way to get some extra money out of a client or help you earn some money when things get slow.
So, my question this week is…
Do you up sell any of your services when working with a client? (ie banner design, hosting, etc)
Do you have a means of passive income? If so, what is it? (ie themes, affiliate sales, etc)

I thought about offering hosting service as a reseller in combination with web design, but then decided not to do it, because I would not be able to give 24/7 support. On the other hand, in the near future, I want to create some premium WP themes and also sell some microstock photos
I’ve been wanting to do Joomla templates for a while. I’m a programmer so I need a partner.
I do offer premium hosting. It allows the client to be on a non-busy dedicated server and allows me to install needed php modules or python, etc. if needed.
This one only applies to print work not web design. I have a great trade only printer, their prices are great & I am usually able to add anywhere from 15-50% gravy…..mmmmm gravy
@ alex…. dont most companies that offer hosting resell packages offer the support services?
@ Danny: the hosting companies I checked out here in the Netherlands , where most of my clients are, clearly state that they can’t support my clients, because they can’t really control, what I do with their hosting packages as an admin. therefore, I would be the first point of contact for these people.
@Chuck - if you’re looking for a designer to do Joomla templates, let’s talk.
