If you have ever done any research about marketing your design/developer business, you have probably heard that its a good idea to have blog. if done properly, a blog can be a great way to build your reputation, network, and more.
So, my question is this…..
How many of you have your own blog? Do you blog for fun, profit, networking….
Add a link to your blog and I will do a post that showcases some of the best ones submitted.

I was blogging on marketing and small business promotion for a long time. I recently started a blog on my custom blog design site and am reaping the benefits almost immediately. Definitely a plus when targeting the right market.
It’s not really a blog because there is no conversation, but I keep a journal at http://jedidiah.eu/journal/
At first it was just to keep my friends up to date with what I was doing but it’s actually got me a few jobs and some great email from people that found it.
Of course I blog, but unfortunatelly, my blog is only in my language (slovak), so it is usefull for my students, or other students of graphic design history & theory in our country

I blog for personal and pseudo-business. My personal blog is on LiveJournal and is locked down to friends-only, but I run a few websites (http://www.snipe.net and http://www.tehawesome.net) that have posts and reviews of design or web dev tools, nifty applications and web services that I think are cool. I’m not really looking for web dev work (I’m slammed enough with a full-time job), but have gotten more work out the open source projects I offer for free than from my blogs.
I started blogging casually about 13 months ago… though I’ve tried not to constrain myself too much on a specific topic I tend to revolve around Social Media and online trends. I graduated with my BA in December and the content on my blog actually helped land my current job so I call it a worthy investment.
Now I maintain andrewcafourek.com to chip in my 2 cents every once in awhile so that whenever someone Googles me to see if I am legit I can have some intellectual street-cred.
I split off my passion for art and design into a different blog powered by Tumblr just as a way to easily share cool designs and artwork I come across online: acafourek.tumblr.com
I started blogging about a year ago. It started as a personal blog, but shortly after it turned into a design blog.
The main purpose of the blog is to network and give away free stuff (I know how much people love free stuff!)

Yes I blog, and I love it. I started a couple months ago, because I wanted to give back to the design community. I love to give away freebies and get some positive feedback. The blog also allows me to share artists that inspire me. Furthermore it acts as my personal portfolio which receives more traffice through blogging.
I blog for fun mostly (there are a few ads here and there, but hey, it’s life). I just love to share some ideas and thoughts.
I blog. I am not a graphic designer though, just find your blog interesting.

I just started. Mostly for photography, but some design stuff too. I try to post stuff that connects with my target market as well as help people get to know me. Since I am part of that market it is really easy (high school senior).

I would not consider my website exactly a blog but I use WordPress to dot down things I consider people in design should know about… well, I also write down about my travels. But like Ivan here above I write mostly in a „foreign language“, Icelandic, which only about 300 000 people speak. But four articles are in English and they are most popular of course.
I have done nothing to get money out of this… well actually I applied for Google ads but they said no, you write in an odd language.
I sort of blog… I make puzzles on a semi-regular basis and post them with descriptions and a feed. That counts, right?
I’m planning on rebuilding my business site later this year, and a blog will be a prominant feature. Unfortunate;y that will make three high priority blogs for me, which makes it hard when I’m still also working full time.
I started a design blog a little over a month ago (Arbenting) to both track my progress and give back to the design community. I’ve found it to be a wonderful networking tool and have made so many great contact through it.
I found your site really good. Thanks for sharing the good information.
This site has good information.Thanks
great job
got a great job done! keep it up.
I started my design blog a couple of months ago and have been having a blast. For the most part I am trying to put myself on the map as a designer. That being said, if I were to ever make a little passive income on the side that would alright with me.
My main blog (of very limited interest to anyone outside my circle of friends/ family) is http://www.gwynf.com . It has a vaguely Mexican theme going on ‘cos I used to live there…
