I Want Sandy - Your Own Personal Assitant
Written by DannyNoSleeves on December 5, 2007 – 2:37 pm
Im a sucker for to-do lists. I have tried every online organizational application on the web. Many of which are awesome in their own right. The one thing that always bothered me about them, was the time it took to create them. Doesn’t waisting time creating and updating a to-do list defeat its purpose?
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could afford your own personal assistant? All you would have to do is tell her what you need to remember and do, and she would take care of your schedule, remembering your wifes birthday, and give you a daily agenda every morning when you sit down at your computer. Thats where Sandy comes in. Shes a personal assistant that will take of all your scheduling and reminder with just an email.
I Want Sandy is a online app that is designed to help you remember, schedule, and get things done.
From the website:
Don’t sweat (or forget) the small stuff.
Some details are too small or short-term to make it into your organizing system. But that doesn’t make them any less important. Let me remember those ephemeral tasks that are the easiest to forget.
I’ll remind you to feed the meter, take your vitamins, or put your wet laundry in the dryer.
How Sandy Works
To start putting sandy to work, all you have to do is send her an email. Simply open a new email, address it to Sandy, and in the subject line tell her what you want her to do. Here are some examples:
- Remind me to call Jon Doe on Thursday at 6:00pm
- Remember my frequent flyer number is 555ok68g
- Remind me to pick up Billy from soccer in 1 hour
Its not any more complicated than that. Once you send Sandy the email, she makes a note of it and reminds whenever you tell her to. If you have a number of things to do in one day, she will also send you an email each morning of your agenda for the day. How cool is that?
Why I Love Sandy
One of the things I like the most about Sandy is how intuitive and easy it is to use. You can speak naturally to her, you dont have to worry about using certain phrases or words.
But to me, the best part is how fast it is. Think about it this way; if you use Google notebook to keep a to-do list, what are the steps involved? If you want to add ad a task, you have to go to the google site, sign in, open your notebook, type in the entry, add a reminder, and save. With Sandy, all you have to do is open your email ( which you probably already have open), type a sentence, and hit send.
I have been using Sandy for about a week know and cant see any reason to stop.
