Geektool Desktops – Geektastic Custom Mac Desktops

I have yet to setup Geektools on my computer and customize it. However, I am constantly amazed by some of the super cool things people are doing with Geektools and other Mac apps to create super slick custom Mac desktops. Here are just a few new custom Mac desktops that caught my eye.

I used to use Geektools and had a pretty nice setup but it took up too much CPU and considerably slowed down my computer especially with Photoshop and Illustrator running. I still turn it on when I have company over to show off though.

That’s one thing with Geek Tools. While it’s fun, it requires a large amount of memory space and depending on the caliber of your computer, can slow down your system.

    wrong.

I have 50+ scripts running with geektool and it uses only 34MB of real memory. I wouldn’t call that large, and my system has not slowed down in the least. I guess if you don’t know what you’re doing, write crappy code, or have no idea what a shell script is then you should probably just stick to surfing the web.

I’ve never heard of Geek Tools before so I’ll be checking out. Really like desktop #7 – the Helvetica one. :)
