Six Shooter Links for Freelance Business. Our favorite six posts on freelance business.

I have put a regular link post on the back burner for a while now. Now that Outlaw Design Blog is functioning as it should, I have decided to start doing a regular post showcasing 6 of my favorite links on any given subject.

Hence the name, Six Shooter Links.

  1. 10 Items You Absolutely Need For Financial Security - A great post on what freelancers need to be doing with their money. Tips on how to save, get insurance, and build a retirement fund.
  2. The Short-Term Hitmen: A Lesson in Customer Service - A fresh outlook on pain that is customer service.

  3. How To Cope With Rejection As A Freelancer - Dealing with rejection is hard for any designer, new or experienced. A nice article that covers the how to of “no.”
  4. How To Survive “The Dip” - Another helpful article on how to make money when things get slow.
  5. Step Zero: Smite Your Inbox Gremlins For Good - Some rules and ideas to help you tackle the beast that is you inbox.
  6. Refocusing Your Business With an “I Am No Good At” List - Exploring the idea of telling your clients what you aren’t good at and what you dont do.

Getting my (and now mine & my wife’s) finances in order and eliminating debt was such a huge move to help in a strong freelance transition. It really helped propel me from just doing it on the side as a hobby to taking it full-scale and relying on the money to live. Making finances the #1 point is perfect.

    Great post.
